In reply to: Request: Image upload with free image hosting
Can an admin change the title of this post to be “Plugin Request: Image upload with postimage.org”?
You can edit your theme or use this plugin https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/post-count-plus/ it will give you teh option to what links to what.
In reply to: Still not recognizing login cookies with WP…Okay, I looked at his settings and config files. I got fresh keys both to match. He had the deep integration line and cookie lines all fine. The problem was in the bb-admin setting for WordPress intergration the URL had the www. , once that was taken out it worked fine.
In reply to: WP & bbPress integration: what would you do?Adam, what I was saying is get a NEW database. Export the database from existing BBpressDB into the NEW database. With the new database install a fresh version of WP. This will give you BBpress with all your old forums and WP with nothing in it. After everything works well, then go to your old WP admin section export all the “authors and post” and then imported into the new WP.
In reply to: WP & bbPress integration: what would you do?I would leave both databases and then import both information to new DB. I’m not sure if anyone has tried doing this.
OR
Import the BBpress info into a New Database. Then intergrate it with a fresh WP. WP’s info is exportable through the admin section you can try to export all the information (posts) and then inport it to the fresh install.
In reply to: Still not recognizing login cookies with WP…Jim R, if you want to email me I can take a look at it. my user name at gmail.com
In reply to: Still not recognizing login cookies with WP…JIM R is you followed what I wrote you won’t be able to edit the keys in the BB admin menu, it will all turn to gray boxes with a lock on them.
In reply to: Favorites page returning profile-page?/profile.php?id=XX&tab=favorites
In reply to: Still not recognizing login cookies with WP…oops took too long to post. mwaterous could be right. I did it this way just in case.
In reply to: Still not recognizing login cookies with WP…Use this link: https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt It has 8 keys.
NOTE: do NOT use any “www.” anywhere when entering information.
1. Open wp-config line replace your new keys with the one from that link. (lines 55-61)
2. Copy the same keys to bb-config just add BB_ after
define('
in each key so it will bedefine('BB_AUTH_KEY', '
(lines 41-44)3. Install & activate BBpress Intergration plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-integration/
4. Get the information from the plugin and put it in line 20 in wp-config and line 13 in bb-config. (if you’re using WPMU take out the HASH line when you put it in bb-config)
5. Log into your BBpress admin section and navigate to SETTINGS -> WORDPRESS INTEGRATION enter all the information it ask for, save.
6. Clear you cache and you should be ready to go.
In reply to: Plugin Request: Garagejohnhiler, okay thanks. I do want to discuss it because there are people like you who suggestions are very helpful. And it makes it easier. I’ll see if I can start putting plugins together. I’ll start working on a plan..
In reply to: Plugin Request: GarageOlaf, I never hired anyone to do such a project, email me my BB user name @gmail.com and throw me a number.
In reply to: Usability ideasKawauso, looks like you’re right (I was thinking BuddyPress) but you have fields in WP that BB’s profile does not show like:
AIM
Yahoo IM
Jabber / Google Talk
Biographical Info
and fields that BB has that WP profiles won’t show. I don’t know if that make sense.
In reply to: Usability ideasI think to achieve easier integration they should start using the same profiles. or profile table.
In reply to: Sticky in Kakumei.I think you have to post first and edit it after to make it sticky.
In reply to: Plugin Request: GarageI would it be separate from the forums. maybe another tab in a person’s profile. (maybe I should ask bp people?)
People can upload their car picture(s) and fill out pre determined fields.
You will have a link under their name when they post saying garage where you see the person vehicle, like you see their profile. That would be the minimal and the starting point.
Then more complex:
-Have a directory of all the people’s car, maybe looking like the groups in bp (http://testbp.org/groups).
-Have rating on the car
-Top Rating, Random, Search, and Last updated.
-Add more than one car, more than one picture
I realized that means you are basically creating a photo album with fields.
delayedinsanity,
It’s not a bbpress plugin, it’s a WPMU. It might work for WP.
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/wpmu-enable-bbpress-capabilities/installation/
Try:
Go to bb-admin section and click on tools and recount items, see if that helps.
And then try this plugin https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/wpmu-enable-bbpress-capabilities/#post-2086
In reply to: Displayname checkThanks Kawauso, haven’t had luck finding it though.
In reply to: Displayname checkKawauso, you buddypress knowledgeable, I want to use this on my site but I don’t use bbpress registration.
In reply to: theme integration? It’s not too hard but it does take a while. You first have to figure out which profile you want your user to use, wordpress or bbpress.
