In reply to: Tips: forum theme
Note to others looking for tips: I found BuddyX theme. Its free and seems to solve issues with bbpress and buddypress in one go. Thus far its a good solution for my site atleast 😊👍
In reply to: Remove “forum” from url slughaha makes sense when you say it! 😂👍
In reply to: Remove “forum” from url slugI see though that my custom forum root disappears and only “forum” shows in the url with that unticked. Is it possible to make it the other way around – so that the “forum” disappears and my custom forum root is showing?
In reply to: Remove “forum” from url slugMany thanks! 🙏 Will it create any problems changing it or why is this function like this (wouldnt everybody like it unticked I mean?)?
In reply to: Multiple Forum IndexesNow I feel really stupid 🙈 Many thanks I will try that 😊
In reply to: Multiple Forum IndexesI tried this [bbp-single-forum id=1] on a new testpage and it did not show anything – just a blanc wordpress page. Do I need to write anything else than [bbp-single-forum id=1] to make it work?
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesOk, thanks 🙏
In reply to: Two Indexes on One WebsiteDid this work out as you planned Willyth?
I am looking to do the same and wondering. I have 290 forums in one category which I would like to have as one forum index on one page and then the rest = two categories and about 15 forums on a main forum index.
Is this split possible? To summarize in other words: as of now I have 3 categories which would be split into 1 forum index with 1 category and another forum index with 2 categories.
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesThank you Robin 😊
About the notes. Would you recommend a excel file logging everything I do with any code; for example which files (path) and which line/lines etc?
I have done some changes when reading some easy codes that I understood how to add etc. But dont remember them by now 😅
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesExcuse me for asking before trying more myself. Manage to fix my question above, looking at the plugin file and changing the permalink name in there. Did not know I could change plugin files myself 🙂
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesI re-did my permalinks to be Swedish. And ofc this page disappeared and I paniced before I realized this plug in made it possible. I wonder if I can somehow change step 4 above, so that I can use permalink = “min-profil” instead?
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesRobin you son of a wordpress god! That works!! haha amazing – please let me know how to send you some money 🙌
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesI dont have a child theme and I dont know how to make one either, sorry to say. So that leaves us to baby plugin – which I dont know what it is 😅 hehe
Is there no way I could add the profile as I did with the forum index? It was super easy just using [bbp-forum-index] 😍
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesUsing wp/my theme top menu. I have a roll down menu with some forum “things” I like to have, and one of those is the forum users profile.
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesJust the profile 🙂
(If possible also a “change password” and “log out” button within the bbpress profile – this is being fixed by a guy I am paying atm)
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesRobin, I am amazed at your support and help. It feels like you ARE bbpress somehow. Hope you feel the appreciation you deserve. Big thank you for your replies 🙂
To my concern/friendly question:
“[bsp-profile] will show ‘My Profile’ in a clickable link to the profile” – it fixes a link if added to a new page. I want it to show the profile directly on the page without pressing a link first 🙂If I am using [bbp-forum-index] on a page, then the forum shows directly on that page. Not a link 🙂 Thus I was wondering if there is any way to do the same for the profile of a user? Because I would like it to show on a specific new page I have. Hope that explains it better.
In reply to: List Of ShortcodesI have you eminent plug in and love it already 🙂 And already checked the shortcodes there. However there is only a shortcode to add a button/text to press that links to the profile. I would love a shortcode as the [bbp-forum-index] but for example [bbp-forum-profile]. Cant find any but maybe there is non?
In reply to: “topics started” & “replies created” not workingI tried the health check plugin and no health issues atleast 🙂
Well I might try this. I just started paying a guy to do custom css and I would cry a river if that disappeared.
In reply to: bbPress 2.6.4 Remove Default Search BarOh my! Many thanks uksentinel! That worked for taking away the search bar above the forum and keeping the sidebar.
Offtopic/sidenote: for every thing I do on my page I feel really proud of my self. Never knew I could even get a site up and running. Now I am doing code (however with extremely good guides from you guys ofc!) and I feel amazing 🙂 Thank you for helping out!
In reply to: “topics started” & “replies created” not workingMany thanks Robin 🙂 A stupid question before proceeding. Will my changes, payed css etc be saved in my theme if I am testing to switch to twentytwenty and back?
In reply to: bbPress 2.6.4 Remove Default Search BarHello. I am trying to understand how to remove the search bar from the forum but not for the sidebar (where I want it to be all the time). If I uncheck “allow forum search” in the admin panel in WP both disappears. Is the only other way the above way?
I am asking before doing anything, because that sound really difficult to me with zero experience with coding or webpages. I am learning by doing 🙂
In reply to: Forum theme only works “backwards”PS. Could it be any issue because I installed WP using one.com “one click install”?
In reply to: Forum theme only works “backwards”Many thanks I will give it a try. However there is so many things that is not working properly so its starting to become a case for some freelancer site. I dont really know what I am doing 🙂
I read your guide: https://codex.bbpress.org/step-by-step-guide-to-setting-up-a-bbpress-forum/
But I cant get the forum to display using method 1 in the above guide. And method 2 is the one I have done from the start but cant get to look the way i want.
If the plugin “bbp style pack” fix the design, there is still the issue with weird menus and different urls within the forum etc. Could it be that I created the forum before changing WP-theme? Could it help to remove BB-press and then reinstall it from the ground up?
In reply to: Forum theme only works “backwards”Thank you very much, that plugin of yours looks really neat 🙂 But its annoying that my forum has correct theme when I click in to the forum and uses the internal bbpress links… Like its some other forumpagetheme activated depending on which url I use. Also something happens using the different links. Its not only the theme that changes but also the page it self. Seems weird to me.
