I did a fresh install of both and everything is working as far as I can tell.
Thanks again. I’m building the wordpress one at the same time-ish. It is slow going mostly because of the PHP that I’m not completely familiar with, but it’s getting there.

Thanks Reboot and Kevin, for your answers. That really cleared it up for me; and yes, it would be great if this information was sticky’d or something. For my site it’s basically a blog with a forum for under 100 users so bbPress sounds like exactly my solution.

I went through the fresh install of WP 3.0 and bbPress 1.0 and the log in works as intended. Maybe you missed a step?
I like it — I look forward to trying it out.
It was giving me the “Admin” link along the top and when ever I pressed it, it would always forward me back to the forum home. But I just went to look again and now it works….
Strange (or maybe not).
I think maybe I hadn’t finished the wordpress integration completely? Seems to be working now.

I’m having an issue along the same vain. I know where the bb-admin is but when I go to the URL it forwards me back to the main page.
In other words:
I enter http://www.yoursite.com/bbpress-directory/bb-admin/
and it forwards me to http://www.yoursite.com/bbpress-directory/
So I can’t think of a way to get to the admin area…
