As you can see, the hot tags, topics, etc. start too far to the left in relation to the header. How can I fix this in the css code? I edited the Kakumei theme on notepad and can’t find what I did to create this problem.

Actually, the header and hot tags are aligned properly. The only problem I can see is the #forumlist table is too wide in the front page template. So, did you change the width of the table or the containing div in either the CSS or the template file?

I think the problem is the long descriptions of the forums. This one in particular:

“Do you want to organize an event or coordinate a big project or just throw an idea to the wind? This is the place.”

That seems to be stretching the table out wide.
