    using WP 4.2.2 – theme (Jupiter v4)

    Hello

the theme i’m using (jupiter 4) had a bbpress directory at theme root when I installed it. (wp-content/theme/jupiter/bbpress). i imagined for compatibility .. but it’s not

any recommendations regarding customization regarding ditching jupiter’s included bbpress and following child theme documentation for the plugin)?

(the url is a dev site that includes an IP i’d rather not post here, thanks!)

You might create a child theme and just use bbPress plugins theme compatibility and transfer your templates to your own bbpress folder.

It depends on how your theme structured everything for bbPress , its CSS , and templates.

    Thanks @robkk for you reply.

I changed the forum root to a page I created within the theme and that page is working well. It was unclear initially that this was permissible/possible.

If you can help direct me to a guide/guide me through creating a custom .php page so that I can create a sidebar on all page levels (topic, category) I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you.

If you want to develop it manually you can use any of these conditional tags for bbPress and WordPress.

    bbPress Conditional Tags

    https://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags

or you can use a plugin like

    • Restrict Widgets
    • Widget Logic

    Thanks @Robkk

I have a couple more regarding registration and login. In both instances, how can I control the page the user goes to after successful login?

I am using WordPress 4.2.2 running Jupiter theme and using bbpress login shortcode on a page.
(currently it stays on same login page with a successful login message)

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
