I’m trying to create forums for multiple groups within multiple organizations, but I’m having what seems like a weird problem. Basically when I click on the Parent forum (which is a category), it doesn’t list child forums at all.

So I have:

Organization_x (type: category, status: open, visibility: private)
– Forum_1 (type: forum, status: open, visibility: private)
– Forum_2 (type: forum, status: open, visibility: private)
– Forum_3 (type: forum, status: open, visibility: private)
Organization_y (type: category, status: open, visibility: private)
– Forum_1 (type: forum, status: open, visibility: private)
– Forum_2 (type: forum, status: open, visibility: private)
– Forum_3 (type: forum, status: open, visibility: private)

When I got to mysite.com/forums. I see Org_x and Org_y listed, but when I click on them, I don’t see any of the subforums listed, even though I’ve populated them with posts.

I can access the individual forums from the main /forums page by clicking on the forum names listed under the Orx_yx title, but why not from within the Org_xy page?

Sorry if I’m missing something simple here.

This sounds like its related to https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2085

There is a patch included with the upcoming bbPress 2.3

If you want to test this and make sure it is working for bbPress 2.3 go download bbPress 2.3 beta 2 and test it out with your setup. https://bbpress.org/blog/2013/02/bbpress-2-3-beta-2/

Awesome! I did have one description in for one of the parent forum categories. Removed it, and viola!
