New topic on new install won’t submit

    WP 4.4.1 BBPress 2.5.8

Hi, I have just installed today your BBPress. I have generally set it up and then tried to start a new topic. I complete all the fields. Above the form it states I have all privileges and can write in html etc. But when I click the submit button, the details of the topic disappear and then a message saying there are no topics in this forum. Can someone advise the reason for this and propose a solution?
I have tried it with the latest 20/13 with the same result.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,
There is one known issue with a closed/sticky post that is not seen when reopened.
Do you have the topic in draft (when you check the backend) ?
Or do you have it in ‘Approval’ status ?

Thanks for your response. No, there are no topics at all anywhere and it makes no difference whether Normal or sticky….

Can you please list your plugins ? Or try to deactivate them all to find the one that blocks (if any) ?
    Pascal.

Hi Pascal these are the plugins I am using. I can’t mess around with them at the moment as I have just sent out a newsletter and expecting some traffic.

    bbPress

    Select Contact Form 7

    Easy Columns

    GTranslate

    Header and Footer

    Sucuri Security –

    The Events Calendar

    UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore

    WP-reCAPTCHA

    thanks
    Graham

    Hi Graham,
What you describe is to me a plugin conflict, so you will have to perform the test and deactivate before I can help you any further. Start with the Sucuri Security as from the description this one COULD block.

Okay, I have deactivated one at a time and still can’t post a topic…..:-( Any further suggestions?

Did you try to switch to a default theme ?
