I got it working. If anyone happends to have the same question here is my solution:

This solution is for the bbPress Plugin version.

    1. Got to “https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/nl/default”.

    2. Log in

    3. Export the .mo file at the bottom and download it.

    4. Place it in the following dir “/wp-content/languages/bbpress/”.

    5. Rename is to “bbpress-nl_NL.mo”.

    6. Make sure you have filled the correct languages in your wp-config.php: ‘nl_NL’.

If there is an easier way feel free to leave a comment.

    Tobias.

I need this translation but the problem is that I am unable to login there with my WordPress account. I can login here no problem but as soon as I go to https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/nl/default I am unable to login :s

    I added all missing translations.

Hopefully the moderator of Glottpress can accept them soon and the files can be integrated into the bbpress-i18n repo of Automattic

    Wouter:

This one does show the most recent and complete one: https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/nl/default

When you filter on ‘Untranslated’ (https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/nl/default?filters%5Bstatus%5D=untranslated&sort%5Bby%5D=priority&sort%5Bhow%5D=desc) it shows no untranslated strings.

Please use the description on how to obtain the files from ‘dtwp’ in the initial post (https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/dutch-translation-missing-in-repository#post-90960)

I use the standalone version of bbPress (1.1).

According to the instructions found on this forum I did the following:

    – downloaded most recent NL .po and .mo

    – created a new directory my-languages in bbPress

    – edit the config-php and added nl_NL at BB_LANG

Most strings are then translated, but not everything.

E.g. on the front page of the forum:

    – Search

    – Latest Discussion,

    – Main theme etc.

I cannot find these strings in the po file.

Wouter, I use it in WordPress as a plugin. I can not help you with a standalone version since I have no experience on that field.

Sorry for the confusion and good luck with the translations!

Are translations included by default in bbPress 2.1? Would be nice.

bbPress is capable of using translations. I would suggest creating a trac ticket with your custom translation so that JJ can include it in future releases.
