Hi Lynq, thanks for the reply.

I have seen you post on some of the similar topics to this in the past and hoped you would pop your head in.

So at the moment your plug in acts in the same way as if you password protected a forum but without the need for a password? ie people can see the forum name but if they click it they need to enter a password.

I need a way of the forum or topic name also being hidden from the users as it contains too much private information and it has to due to the nature of the business i am in.

    Thanks

I have been googlng this for the past 4/5 days trying to find a solution and it seems im not alone.

There are a lot of people as surprised as me that this function is not available and from what i can read would also be willing to pay for it. If someone wrote a little plugin for this it could be worth their while.

Surely a way to restrict a forum or topic access cant be that difficult for someone in the know to create?

Trying to get s2Member to allow this function but only seems to restrict access to a restriction group number not a single user. Each user cannot have its own group as i can only create a max of 4 restricted groups.

Any other way in s2 to create this option?

    Thanks

    Hi,

There is a plugin allowing you to edit both new topic notification email and new reply notification email, I assume you know of these?

From what i cane see there are none to edit the new registration email.

    I find that pretty weird?

    Hi,

Sorry to jump in but this is exactly the function i am looking to implement.

Did you get anywhere with it?

I have found various plugins that will allow you to do option 2 and 3 but your first option is where i am also stumped. Justins “members” plugin seems to look like it should option 1 but it does not seem to.

Like you i basically need a way of making forums or topics only visible to a specific member and the admin.

    for example:

I post a topic “Johns support topic”

When i log in as admin i can see it and participate in it.

When other users log in they cannot see it or participate in it.

When John logs in he can see it and participate in it.

The issue is i will need a large amount of these “Support topics” so cannot make John able to see “hidden_forums” etc.

    Thanks, any advice is appreciated.

Just to add something like the “members” plugin would be good but it no longer seems to work?
