In reply to: bbpress show first post from each topic via popup
For future reference – Robin has very kindly added this option (Topic Preview) to his bbp style pack v4.6.5 plugin and a big thanks you for all Peters efforts on this
In reply to: bbpress show first post from each topic via popupHi Robin, I was drawing to the same conclusion also, I realis this is a bit of a wide question, would you have any idea what this could cost, I realize this is a very open ended question, but cold be something worth investing in from my perspective ?
I realize updates would be required, but that’s a problem for another day ?
Thanks
In reply to: bbpress show first post from each topic via popupA re-bump of above thread, just incase somebody missed it previously 😉
In reply to: bbpress show first post from each topic via popupso I had a play with those pluggins and alas not exacty what I was looking to achieve
To help clarify, this is NOT about previewing before posting. I am Wondering how to show the first X words of a thread or post as a tooltip when hovering over the thread link for example. Any plugins? Code? etc.
I have seen option for WordPress, but not for bbpress ?
Imgur link to an example – https://imgur.com/TxHRtTG
In reply to: bbpress show first post from each topic via popupunderstood – I will give them a go and let you know
Thanks
In reply to: bbpress show first post from each topic via popupA re bump incase it helps;
I am looking for a similar plugin as described in the below bbpress thread from 4 years ago regarding post previews for bbpress
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/preview-post/
Alas both bbp-live-preview and bbpress-live-preview are no longer supported ?
Any guidance most welcomed
In reply to: bbPress Profile Link Shortcode PluginIf it is a direct copy, then I am not surprised it was rejected – thank you for spending your time with this challenge, but unless the code / design is unique, bbpress will keep rejecting.
FYI – I have got around the problem by using a widget that works and created a short code from that and placed that shortcode in the top menu on my page, a bit of a fudge but it will do for now.
Thanks for trying 😉
In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarHopefully your plugin will be approved and this will ensure WordPress and BBPRESS standards are maintained 😉

In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarIf you could explain the whole process of what I need to do, and the code needed and where it goes, then I am sure others would be interested in reading this thread ?
In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarSorry, I changed my mind about granting you access, way to risky for me
Happy to be told what to do – but my site is my baby 😉

In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarCorrect and many thanks
where should I place profile code ?
<?php echo bbp_get_user_profile_url( get_current_user_id() ); ?>
In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarAlas I am only a amature in terms of coding – so do not understand how to put in a variable to represent that logged in users (username) in the hyperlink
https://uktechhub.com/forums/users/????????/
???????? = (currently logged in user)
https://uktechhub.com/forums/users/uk-sentinel/
Such fun 😉
In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarThe key to my question is I cannot create a link to a users bbpress profile
This is mine on my URL
https://uktechhub.com/forums/users/uk-sentinel/ as an example as the variable for username changes with each logged in users name ?
this is my profile link on BBPRESS.org
In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu Barideally yes, I have an avatar there already, but it is only visible to logged in users (
I can unhide it if this helps you understand better ?
In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarAlmost, when I user logs in, and selects there default avatar located at top right of screen, they then have access to (Passwords change, Profile and Log-Off) but I am looking to change that link / avatar so that the user has access to there replies / Profile Topics Started / Replies Created / Engagements / Favorites / Subscriptions / Edit as you described above
Very much like what happens on this forum 😉
Thank you
In reply to: Allow Users to Edit There Profile Icon on menu BarFYI – My WordPress and BBPress installations are up-to-date and I have an Icon in the Toolbar which when clicked, goes to three option (Dashboard – Change Password and Log-Out) but does not give access to users topics and post being created etc.
If I use the Widget BBPRESS LOGIN LINKS Widgets – and click on the icon, then it gives me access to the profile details I am looking for, but I would like to use this profiles option for the menu (not wideget)
😉
In reply to: bbPress 2.6.4 Remove Default Search BarJust as an update, editing the content-archive-forum.php file worked and the GD Power Search for bbPress plugin now works as expected
Many thanks for your guidance
