However, the wp_content file decreased from 8GB to 7GB, and it’s still inflated so it seems there is another issue.

I figured out the issue in the permalinks. I wanted to remove the word “Category” from the links of the posts so I found an article in WordPress support forums that I have to write a dot “.” in the field
Category base in the permalinks and it worked to remove the word category

but now I tried to remove the dot and the word category is back to the links but the issue of the bbpress is fixed. so the issue was with that “.”

How can I remove the word category from the links then without the dot?

The “Forum Root” is “forums” and the “Prefix all forum content with the Forum Root slug (Recommended)” is checked.

I wish I can add a screenshot here but it doesn’t seem I can do that

I have a Captcha plugin and Akismet and nothing worked

I posted it here because the sign up is by the bbpress widget using this code [bbp-register]

and before I was having an issue which is many users with weird names and emails are registering with my websites and I have been told to use captcha so a real person can sign up only but now even with capthca I am having spam users idk how!

knowing that I am the only admin and I changed my pass and email several times and didn’t work

Nope I don’t have plugins. I just use Akismet idk if it interferes with the registration process

I am so sorry for bumping but it’s really bothering me that issue that’s why i asked again here and i have disabled the registration so I lost many users and the second I enabled it again I got around 5 spam users in few minutes only

I solved this issue by replacing the base to another page and put the code [bbp-forum-index] and the previous page I am not able to add the forums to the same base again
