In reply to: Future of bbPress
Hi Matt,
Thank you for the reply.
I wasn’t suggesting adding intense debate to the core of bbpress. I was only saying that currently there is now easy way of (for example) logging into a bbPress forum using twitter.
Intense Debate would be a great plugin to connect to bbPress. But from what they told me they are not planning it, and I was hoping that you might find a solution to that.
Best wishes,
Tal
In reply to: IntenseDebate and BBpressHi Guys.
It seems there isn’t going to be an integration in the near future:
Maybe if more of you will make “sound” someone will budge
Hopefully.
Tal
In reply to: Future of bbPressThanks for stopping by matt.
If I may use this stage for a request:
I hope to see an integration of bbpress login system with other methods of authentication (especially twitter, facebook and google – maybe through intense-debate ?).
Thanks,
Tal
In reply to: IntenseDebate and BBpressThanks sambauers, I just filed a request – hope it will encourage someone there…
In reply to: What is localhost?What hosting company do you use ?
(you should probably ask there support Email – this is the type of things they would know how to answer)
In reply to: What are the future plans for bbpress ?Hi _ck_, thanks for giving your frames of time.
BTW: to what problems/limitation of WP, are you referring to ? (I am curious to know)
In reply to: What are the future plans for bbpress ?Thanks SamBauers – I now see it
Hopefully one of the other developer will through in a word as to their predictions for the system – I am very curious to know.
In reply to: What are the future plans for bbpress ?Hi sambauers.
I thank you for your detailed reply. and hope you great luck on your own project.
Thanks to your reply, I just noticed your bbpulp.org (bbpress wiki website), and will go through it later.
I hope one of the people you mentioned will give us some inside look to there intentions for the near future.
In reply to: What are the future plans for bbpress ?Hi schmitt, thanks for the reference. It IS reassuring to see trac changes. perhaps I should rephrase my question:
Could we expect a 0.9 (or even 1.0) release in the near future (or maybe after WP2.3 stabilizes) ?
(Surely, I am not the only one who is curious)
In reply to: fantastic looking bbpress forumCool…
(still waiting for the theme franzy that came with wordpress – to arrive at bbpress)
In reply to: Q: how do I add a manu bar at the header ?Arrg.
Thank Null, yet I don’t know how to handle the name changes in phpMyAdmin.
But I’ll try to reinstall it later on, and will update on progress,
Thanks again,
Tal.
In reply to: Q: how do I add a manu bar at the header ?Hi Null, thank you for your fast reply !
I actually tried the plugin before posting
My main problem with it – is that I can’t translate “forum” and “search” into hebrew. If i could, I would have used it.
Also, for some reason, the plugin is buged, so I can’t move it’s widgets around (in FF and in IE as well).
What would you recommend me to do ?
In reply to: please help to fix the “style-rtl.css”Trent – I see you have fixed the problem. Thank you very much !
I will now go to build the forum, and will share with all of you once I made it work (and also, will share my Hebrew translation to the rest of the community)
Again, Trent, thank you very much
p.s: one small correction I made to the stylesheet, was to the header.
In the current configuration, The first letter of the name of the forums, is cut off.
So to fix it, I erased the line:
font-style: italic;
from the file style.css, in the “#header h1 { ” section, as seen here:
In style.css:
#header h1 {
font-family: Georgia;
/*font-style: italic;*/ <– this line
position: absolute;
display: block;
color: #444;
text-align: right;
letter-spacing: -1px;
right: 59px;
bottom: 31px;
}
I don’t know how to incorporate it into the trunk or to post a ticket, but I hope what I write will help…
Another small issue (which matters little to me, but is worth noting) :
When the mouse hovers around a header of (for example a forum name): in Firefox, you get the whole line to change color(as it should). in IE you deon’t get that effect.

In reply to: please help to fix the “style-rtl.css”Hi Trent. Thank you !
The problem in the stylesheet occurs in IE 6.0.2900.2180
Didn’t try loading the page with other IE versions.
With regards,
Tal.
In reply to: please help to fix the “style-rtl.css”Hi fel64.
Sorry, I didn’t follow.
The site linked to in the ticket, is my forum. and it works under firefox, not under Internet Explorer (And there are many users using IE, so I can’t open the forum until it is compatible to both standards)

In reply to: style-rtl.css problem in 0.81 with IEThanks Trent !
In reply to: style-rtl.css problem in 0.81 with IEThank you chrishajer
In reply to: style-rtl.css problem in 0.81 with IEWell, a week hasn’t passed yet, but still the ticket is not up in the 1.0 release trac – I hope it is normal.
In reply to: style-rtl.css problem in 0.81 with IEThanks chrishajer.
Since I did not yet open the forum, I don’t see a reason to try and patch it to work. (especially when I don’t know how people are supposed to login if I remove the TEMPLATE)
I hope the issue will be resolved soon, so I could open up the forum
Cheers,
Tal.
In reply to: style-rtl.css problem in 0.81 with IEP.s: it seems the ticket is not assigned to any new release, can some1 please fix that ?
In reply to: style-rtl.css problem in 0.81 with IEWOW !
Thanks allot people (chrishajer, Trent) for the attention. It is like a breeze of fresh air after no reply for some time. Thanks again.
chrishajer – What can I do – people I address sometimes use IE, so I must address there needs.
Trent – Thanks for the Trac posting.
Waiting for the 0.81++ release.
Tal.

I also don’t know what to do

Hi mdawaffe – Great job !
I made the php file (called it as the .mo file name – which was bbpress_il_IL.php )
And once putting it in the languages directory, combined with the improved style.css files – it did the magic.
there are two points to make though:
1) when entering a thread – there is a sliding of the info part – in the begining of the thread. as shown here:
http://www.biostatistics.co.il/forums/topic.php?id=3&replies=1
2) It might be helpful, for less technofillik people as us – to make an option in the admin panel – weather to turn the “rtl” on or off.
(another nice add on – would be to enable different “rtl” setup – on different forums on the same bbpress installation. Not that I need such a feature – but it might be worth keeping in mind)
Again, thanks a whole bunch !
After there is a solid release of a working style-rtl.css – I will gladly publish all the installation detail for the hebrew speaking community (and i believe all will be happy).
Tal.
Hi mdawaffe – Thanks for the fast reply.
If I understand you correctly – what you offer is to paste all the content of style-rtl.css, into the file style.css (in the end of it).
Well, I just tried it, and seems that the style.css has some “design conflicts” in it (look at the forum header for example)…
you can see the results at:
http://www.biostatistics.co.il/forums/
Hope you (or someone else) could help ,
Tal.
