In reply to: BP – bbP – WordPress SEO integration
Please can someone help with answers to the couple of questions above. I think you would be helping a lot of people if we can figure out a good way to integrate WordPress SEO with the BBPress forums used within BuddyPress.
If you can help please, and I can then get this to work, I’ll post the result back again so others can benefit.
Many thanks.
In reply to: BP – bbP – WordPress SEO integrationCan anyone help with this please?
1. What is the bbp function that gives me the bbP Topic Post ID for the bbP topic that is currently being shown within a Buddypress group page.
2. What is bbp function that returns value true when a bbP Topic is currently being shown within a BuddyPress group page?
Thanks in advance.

And I look forward to your updated video…
In reply to: BuddyPress group admin>forum check box not working?Has anyone managed to turn on the new bbPress forums in legacy BuddyPress groups? (….including legacy BuddyPress groups which didn’t have an old-style forum?)
Or is this a bug?
Hi Spence,
I’ve now removed all my legacy forums database tables, so I tried what you suggested above, but instead changing the privacy settings of the legacy groups themselves. It didn’t fix it.
So I still cannot find a way of turning on the new bbPress forums in legacy BuddyPress Groups. Anyone with a solution please post.
Thanks Spence- I tried toggling and saving the BP “allow group forum” as you suggest but it didn’t fix it.
In fact, the BP group admin>forum page check box (followed by save) seems to have no effect on turning the bbPress forum on or off for that group. I checked that it does toggle the “enable_forum” field in the wp_bp_groups database table. But neither BP nor bbPress seems to recognise the change.
I think there may be a BP/bbPress bug/incompatibility problem here – what do you think Spence and JJJ?
Thanks for the above JJJ.
I’m using WP3.4.2, BuddyPress 1.6.1 and bbPress 2.2.2.
As you recommended above, I have turned off the BP forums component and turned on BP in Settings> Forums. But I can only get the bbPress group forums to work with new BP groups that I create now (i.e. after loading bbPress 2.2.2). And I have a stack of old BP groups that I wish to add new forums to.
Do I need to use the bbPress 1.1 import tool to turn on the bbPress group forums for pre-existing BP groups? If so, perhaps you could guide me on how to do this please. (I don’t actually need to import any old BP group forums.)
Many thanks.
In reply to: Turning on forums in existing BuddyPress groupsThanks but yes, I already tried that and just tried again to make sure.
Again, please correct me if I’m wrong, but “deleting the bb-config.php file and resetting the option boxes” no longer seems to apply to bbPress 2.2+.
Firstly, there is no bb-config.php file in the root directory anymore.
Secondly, in BuddyPress config you now leave the forums component off (not on like before). I did still try toggling the BuddyPress forums component on then off, but that didn’t fix it.
I’d be grateful for any more suggestions to try please.
In reply to: Turning on forums in existing BuddyPress groupsThank you. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think your guide is out of date for what I am now doing (and presumably others are now doing too) with the new bbPress 2.x. To use the new bbPress 2.x fully you do indeed turn off the BuddyPress forums component, as JJJ said in reply to you in forum
“Much of it is the same. You’ll want to focus on:
turning the BuddyPress forums component Off
the bbPress 1.1 import tool
the BuddyPress settings in: Settings > Forums”So I am still looking for the answer to my original question if you know that please…
How do I turn on forums in existing BuddyPress groups please?Does anyone know the answer?
