    Robin,
Thanks for that helpful explanation – didn’t realise normal members couldn’t see it!
    Many thanks,
    Stewart

Yes, the hidden replies come from Trashed replies and it’s an irritation having to get rid of them. What is the point of showing ‘Hidden Replies’? How is this useful info for forum visitors?

    Hi Robin,
This issue persists. I now have 23 hidden replies, which I again got rid of with the’Repair’ function. How do they get hidden in the first place – is it when you ‘Trash’ them? …is this normal or is something broken? Should I be able to filter for ‘Hidden’? That option doesn’t exist in my WP.

    Hi Robin,
Thanks for the reply, but I don’t see any option to ‘filter for hidden’, just a filter button….. that does nothing?

In any case, I think I might have fixed this with the ‘Repair’ options?

    With thanks,
    Russell

OK! After much random searching I found the location. If anyones interested it’s: wp-content/plugins/bbpress/templates/default/bbpress/form-user-edit.php.

Where is this dialogue box wording stored? Is it in a CSS file or Function file, or what? Driving me crazy looking for this – just want to change “ten” to “eight”.

    Hi Dominic,
I think you misunderstood my post. I simply want to reduce the required password length to 8, rather than 10. I have changed this setting in Profile Builder Pro to eight, and that iis actually working ie 8 character passwords are accepted, but this dialogue box is still saying 10, which is confusing for visitors (and me!)

I think this is a BBPress issue, but I can’t find where to change this anywhere! Iv’e searched every CSS file i can find!
Any help would be much appreciated

    Hi Samuel,
First ley me say that I am a beginner, this being my first WP site. I can not handle code. Secondly, my site has now been completely rebuilt online in a sub directory – the Wamp version was messed up! The site is at https://newsite.hampsteadbowmen.com. I can give you Admin access if you give me a private email? I will copy this into the other thread.

    Regards,
    Stewart

I just tried this on my laptop as well – same problem – everything works except bbp-messages!?

I really like the look of this plugin, it is just what I want, so VERY Disappointing!

Hope you can get back to me soon, as this is the only thing stopping me publishing this website.

    Regards

    OK, so I have now purchased the Pro version and it still doesn’t work! EVERYTHING ON MY SITE WORKS GREAT EXCEPT THIS MESSAGES? So I don’t see why it should be a problem with Wamp;

Have produced new WP site on Wamp 2.5 on my PC. I have installed bbp-messages 0.2.3.1 and already have bbpress 2.5.8 forum. WordPress 4.6.1 Sport Theme by Theme Canon Win10

THE WHOLE SITE and forum IS WORKING FINE, but When I try to use bbp-messages Lite, it returns the following:

FORBIDDEN: you don’t have permission to access wordpress/members1/http:/localhost/wordpress/members1/ on this server. Apache/2.4.9 (Win64) PHP/5.5.12 Server at localhost Port 80.

Would be very grateful for any advice as I am ready to publish this web – this my first WP site!
