In reply to: After upgrade cant upload when creating a post
There are a bunch, but two come to mind:
Superann wrote a very popular plugin which integrates bbPress 0.9 with WordPress 2.6+:
* https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bayanimecom-wp26-and-bbpress-09-complete-cookie-integration
* https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-26-and-bbpress-09-integration/
And ipstenu has contributed a lot to the community as well:
There are a number of different causes of this report… it’s a bit hard to debug without more specific error info.
Any of these reports look similar?

In reply to: After upgrade cant upload when creating a postWe have a number of female developers on the bbPress forums… they’re some of our most active members actually.
If you’re using a number of _ck_s plugins, I recommend you restore from backups and go back to 0.9 btw…
In reply to: After upgrade cant upload when creating a post_ck_ has mentioned she own’t be updating her plugins to support bbPress 1.0 til December at the earliest:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/support-for-09-how-long#post-38034
I use a lot of her plugins and I’m staying on 0.9 until December at least… possibly longer.
Some users have posted fixes for her bb-attachments plugin to get it working on v 1.0+:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/bb-attachments/page/15/
If you apply those, maybe you’ll be able to get it to work again?
Good luck!
In reply to: problem with using theme rather than default themeClick into the inove folder, and confirm that all the files in there are 755?
In reply to: can't change email in profileWhat exactly happens when you try to change your email?
I don’t know if this is similar, but there were some reports of something along those lines a while back:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/cant-edit-the-keymasters-profile
In reply to: problem with using theme rather than default themeWhat about the theme folders inside of my-templates… are those also 755?
In reply to: Number of Tags on Sidebar.I don’t know the default number of tags… should be straightforward to test.
You might want to try this hot tags plugin, which is much more powerful/flexible than the standard bbpress hot tag calls…
In reply to: target=blank in TopicA few links here?

In reply to: Number of Tags on Sidebar.Hmm sorry, not following…

Btw – I don’t really know all this stuff… I’m just using Google to search the bbpress forums!
In reply to: Adding Topics from within the dashboard.I don’t see one either. I’m sure you could write a plugin to do this, if you wanted?
Although it’s tricky – a lot of plugins touch the posting process (polls, bb-attachment, etc.)… and most of those wouldn’t work with an admin-centric posting system (or you’d have to test all your posting-based plugins twice).
In reply to: Sticky not staying on top and logos/signs.This will help with icons next to topics:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/topic-icons/
What type of sticky is your post… and where isn’t it showing up at the top? If you could share a link, that would also help a lot!
In reply to: bbpm 404 error after activationThere was a similar report on the plugin comments page:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/bbpm/page/7/
The developer said you don’t need htaccess if you have pretty permalinks on… try removing your htaccess, and see if that helps? (Make sure to back it up, of course!)
In reply to: Thanks for everything, Sam!We should be ok. Best case scenario, Automattic will bring on someone to continue developing bbPress. Worse case scenario, we can fork the code from bbPress and continue development on our own… Since WordPress is open source, maintaining cookie/user integration is definitely possible.
But we can discuss all that in a separate thread… mostly just wanted to express appreciation for Sam in this thread! He wrote a huge amount of code and chimed in a lot of threads here on the forum – thanks again!
Sam, I hope the team at Automattic appreciates how hard you worked, and just how much they lost when you stepped down!
In reply to: Feedback: BBpress Lite & BBpressOlaf – The big reasons for me to stay on the older version are:
* Many plugins work on 0.9 but aren’t compatible with 1.0.
* 0.9 is really stable and battle-tested, while 1.0 is just a few months old.
* 0.9 is very fast, but 1.0 has a lot more overhead (like BackPress) which slows it down considerably.
It’s really a decision that each webmaster has to make for themselves!
In my case, I’m sticking with 0.9… but I recognize that as time goes on and 1.0 matures, the upgrade will become more compelling for me! But YMMV…
In reply to: Feedback: BBpress Lite & BBpressAh interesting gerikg!
If 0.9 is Lite and 1.0 is Full… wouldn’t most people want the Full version? I guess I’m not sure why 0.9 is Lite and 1.0 is Full…
Someone suggested once that bbPress 0.9 should’ve been named bbPress 1.0… and bbPress 1.0 should have been released as bbPress 1.7 or something. That sounds about right to me…
In reply to: User Activity & Topics StartedSorry, don’t know much (anything?) about BuddyPress… maybe try their forums? I bet they have a lot of insight into deep integration over there…
In reply to: Avatar ProblemIn reply to: Thanks for everything, Sam!There’s a committee?
In reply to: Thanks for everything, Sam!Development tends to go in bursts as described here:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-facebook-page#post-21553
Sam was working insanely hard before 1.0 came out, so not at all surprised that he’s taking a break!
But definitely wanted to express thanks, if Sam has indeed moved on…

In reply to: bbPress loading slower than site.Ah ok, yah mini-stats is a great dashboard plugin which lets you know how many users you have… how many posts and topics they’re creating… and other key metrics like that.
I check it almost every day, and couldn’t run my sites without it… I find it to be one of the most useful plugins out there, if you’re managing a site for growth.
In reply to: bbPress loading slower than site.Great advice from chrishajer!
The only thing I’d add is that this plugin can be helpful in counting your queries, and identifying which plugin is slowing your site down:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/bb-benchmark/
Good luck!
