I did it all by hand. Registration to the site is closed.
And it worked fine for almost a year, until recently I discovered this. Probably I updated something, but sadly I can;t remember what and when this problem exactly started…

Ok, it did help a bit: users are able to post now. But the problem remains of the user-count-mismatch.
Also I don’t want all the users of the entire network to be able to acces and post to the forum website… so global access is not the ultimate solution…

thnx for some more help on this one!

hey hey. I now find that all the users that are ‘hidden’ can not post anymore… But I can’t delete and re-add them because they don’t show up… this is rather weird…

Please does someone has any suggestions on how to fix this…?!?

any news on poll options for bbPress? My members are grumbling 😉
Also doodle-like polling would be an excellent feat to see in bbPress or BuddyPress.

    ;-)

There are some nifty plug-ins you might want to look at so you can send new members custom welcome emails and redirect them on their first-sign on to their own profile page as so to encourage them to complete their profile.

Also adding custom fields to the profiles of members can be a great way to get them to share more information about themselves and relevant to the community of the forum.

I use a captcha plugin to fight spammers and assigning forum moderators is a good idea if your forum becomes too big to manage by yourself

WordPress allows for anyone to register to your website. If you enable this option under general settings then you have everything you want. ;-)

    Good luck!

    thnx for the response.

And indeed you are right; i found a theme that was close enough and worked from there.

It is gonna be a nice website that show affiliation with bbPress and WordPress but is also clearly different to prevent any confusion.
