Neither.
I removed bb-config.php file before as I assumed this was from previous buddypress install.
htaccess file had some strange stuff at the top…removed that so it is now just the normal rewrite or .php urls to /
Still getting page not found to /forum url
Is there a way to “force” the install somehow?
Plugin: I am looking for a way to protect forums by “role” which I define on the wordpress side. BY role, I mean non standard ones…I create custom roles that manage membership levels like Free, Bronze, Silver, Gold.
I want to be able to say:
Forum x: only show to Gold
ForumY: only show to Bronze, Silver, Gold
It would also be nice to be able to set rights like
-view only
vs view and post
hide completely (i.e. do not show forum)
BY forum, I mean parts (buckets of threads) of a global forum

I deleted all traces of buddypress…and started again. I am still getting “this page not found”
when navigating to mysite.com/forum
There must be another step…I am missing….the steps mentioned here have not worked for me

Can it be used to also limit forums to specific Roles created inside WP?

May I ask a follow on question? I involves the protection of individual forums.
From this post: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/hide-topics#post-66521 an explanation is
given on how to protect specific groups.
In that post it mentions role’s. If I have specific roles already inside my WP site other than subscriber
(which I think is member in bbPRESS), for example: Free, BRonze, Silver, Gold…can I limit specific
“Group” forums to just those roles or an aray of roles?
