@jeffacubed @wdfee I’m wondering if we might all have something in common.

I have an inkling that perhaps we all edited the user roles or capabilities.

I’ve used the Role Editor plugin.

Have any of you adjusted anything about the user roles?

Perhaps network activating the plugins alters how the roles function.

@jeffcubed We have a ticket open with trac on this issue. You may check it out here:

If you’re experiencing the same issue as described in the ticket, then you might want to chime in to increase the ticket’s priority.

@jeffacubed Thanks for letting me know. I’ve already tried to latest bbpress and buddypress trunk but the issue persisted. If I can be of any help with the testing – just let me know. I’m eager to get this issue resolved. Thanks

I’m experiencing the same issue as what you described. I made a topic about it under the subject line, “Buddypress group forum not working.”

Did you get it working without resorting to network enabling bbPress?

@jeffacubed – that’s good to know that I’m not the only one out there.

I did notice that a few people had a similar issue, or at least related ones, although I don’t know of a resolution.

I don’t want to blow out the forum and start all over just to get it working – but I will if I have to.

I would prefer to learn whatever is broken and try to fix it.

    BTW – I don’t see the link.

As part of the troubleshooting process, I’ve created a topic inside of the group’s forum from the wp-admin, and it showed up in the Group’s forum tab.

Next, I tried to reply to the topic from within the Group (on the front-end) – and it disappeared too.

So from what I can tell, when creating new Group topics and new Group topic replies on the front-end – they all disappear.

    To add to the description:

I can add topics as normal to the non-group forums. So this issue is only effecting the functionality of the Buddypress group forums.

I don’t have the Buddypress group forum component enabled – only the site-wide forum with the Allow BuddyPress Groups to have their own forums” option enabled.

Solved! – Somehow or another I had the plugin ‘bbPress Threaded Replies” activated. After disabling it the replies appeared under the topics as expected.

Just to add more info. I can see the reply if I view it by clicking on the provided link from the dashboard. So it seems like the topic and the reply are disconnected.

Also – maybe this information makes any difference, maybe not. I have several forum categories, and then in those categories I have at least one forum. So within one of these forums I have the topics where the replies don’t show up.

I’m using the 2010 bbPress theme in Blogs MU theme.
