WordPress Import

I imported my vbulletin forum into BB press.

I am having some issues with it slowing down my wordpress.

    I ran all the repairs except this one just keeps timing out;
“Recalculate the position of each reply”

It’s a pretty big forum and I have a good amount of closed/hidding forums.

I could really use some support.

Will be happy to pay the developers for more urgent/personal support.

Hi, did you try to import in bbPress 2.6-beta 2 from https://bbpress.org/download/ ? The 2.6 has advanced import features.

    No, I didn’t….

I have everything imported (which took along 8 hours), but organizing it all is real pain (especially since having hidden forums slows down wordpress). So, I am deciding what to delete. However, there are even more challenges there as well as there is no way to easily delete bulk posts.

I’d also like to keep my users post counts.

I am a little overwhelmed as processes such as deleting posts/forums take way to long to do.

Should i start over in 2.6 beta 2?

Where are the new import tools on 2.6 beta 2?

The import section looks the same (aside from the more organized tables in the cleanup function)

….or do you see them after you start the import??

Can you tell me what the new import tools are?

I don’t want to clean out and start a new import unless I know it’s going to help.

Should I increase the allowed PHP memory for the import?

Sorry, you have already done the import I see now. I thought you were blocked during the import.

2.6 is bringing better import mechanisms (but you don’t have an issue there), better performance and lots of other stuff (see https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-2-6-beta/).

I would propose to run the 2.6 in a test environment and see if it solves your issues.

    Pascal.
