I think you can only assign 1 forum to each group in BuddyPress, but I am not entirely sure. You may need to contact BuddyPress’s support team to make sure.

@robin-w I’ve tried your plugin and it worked great up until I recently discovered that it doesn’t work on a multisite install.
Even though there are only two groups on the main site, it shows users being in groups 5 or 8. When I change them in the main site, it changes them in sub-sites as well.
It really stinks as I thought this was the best solution!

As it stands right now, I believe the PermitPress pro would be the best option for the methods we are looking at for masking and what not! Unless of course support says it’s possible to get multiple groups to see the same forum
