    BBPRESS VERSION: 2.5.14

    TWENTYNINETEEN

    home

I am using the bbpress [forum] plugin.
I do not want to use it in its default state. I want to have it maintain my site’s design.
According to what I have read [HERE; https://codex.bbpress.org/themes/theme-compatibility/ ]

to do so requires me to copy both the bbpress and the css directories
from the default folder and paste it or upload
it into the ‘theme’ directory/ folder.

Thing is I am not quite sure if I ought to paste them [ bbpress & css directories] into the wp-config.php folder
& if so where [in the wp-config.php folder] ? Is it Before or after the present info I see there now?

you could put the files in your theme directory, but unless you change them, there will be no difference on what you have now – that will require you to know and edit css files

This might be a better solution

    bbp style pack

    once activated go to

    dashboard>settings>bbp style pack>

Robin, You answered a question that was not asked but which I wanted to know. Thank You. I’ll track your style pack and give it a whirl!

    Peace
    Sincerely

Robin, Can you please check the path…. settings takes me to a tab with the following options:
    general
    writing/
    reading/
    discussion
    media
    permalinks
    privacy

    Thanks
    Sincerely
    Josie

Thank You for following up Robin, Yes I did -but weirdly neither shows up there. Is there another ‘setting’ that i ought to be aware of? Thanks

    can only suggest
It could be a theme or plugin issue

    Themes

As a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

    Plugins

If that doesn’t work, also deactivate all plugins apart from bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Then come back

Robin, Thank You. The problem is solved.
    A question for you:

How do I use your plugin to create a similar forum site such as – https://boards.weddingbee.com/
    ?
    Please let me know.
    Thank You
    Sincerely

sorry, I only provide some of the tools, this is not a design service 🙂

and I’ve no idea whether the site you show is even bbpress.

    Thank You Robin,

I know it’s not a design service per se, You are the creator. Right? So who best to know the length and depth and breadth of your product? 🙂

And if I need this guidance maybe there are others who want it – who knows? perhaps my question could have been the gateway for some sort of template-like / cliff-notes on exactly how to get certain forum configurations 🙂 That you could sell to go with your free plugin.

    Yes it is bbpress.
Actually its one of their ‘flagship’ examples of what bbpress can do.
    Peace
    Josie

Robin, another question please – can sidebars be added to the forum?
And if so can you direct me to a solution.
    Thank You
