it’s happening whether I use the built in forum space or same problem when i use a short code in the groups extras page.

forums are loading fine when they are on single forum page, or short code calls them into a worpdress page.

totally stumped.

I should add, it was working fine, then, though i hadn’t touched the site, not working.
other members have joined in mean time, but can’t see what has done this.

there is also a corruption in the database relating to keymaster user permissions that neither myself nor four seperate programmers has been able to identify.

Just discovered that for some reason wp total cache was causing a conflict.
omg that did my head in. so it appears i now need to sacrifice the speed of caching for at least functionality of features. *sigh.

You should be able to turn off caching on specific parts of the site. You typically won’t want to cache much of the BuddyPress related output, since much of it is time-sensitive and activity based.
