Time Discrepancies

Anyone know why the time stamp of the first post in a thread would be off (by three hours), while the time stamps on all subsequent posts in the same thread are correct?
Same is happening on the front page. The last post time (using the Forum Last Poster plugin) for the first listed forum is off (by three hours) but all subsequent forum last post times are correct.
Any ideas?
