What setting do you have on your wp-admin > Settings > Discussion > Other Comment Settings > Enable threaded comments ?
Thanks for responding!
Threaded comments are enabled, 10 levels deep.
The identical settings as in wp-admin > Settings > Forums.
ok it works on bbpress with a twentyten theme – that’s all I can say.
Can you define down more what ‘not working’ means
Without a site to see, at the moment you are telling us that your car won’t work, but that’s all the information you give:-)
I tried it with twentyten, plugins (other than bbpress) disabled.
What I mean by “not working” this:
All comments (and replies) are being listed chronologically, instead of “threading”, which I understand to be (1) appearing directly underneath the replied-to comment, (2) indented.
Neither of those things happen when a comment is replied to.
Clicking the “reply” link to any comment slides the screen down to the comment form at bottom. Though the form has a little “reply to (comment)” title, the comment shows up at the very bottom of the page, i.e. chronologically. Replying to that reply has the same result. No indent.
(I’d be happy to grant private access to the site!)
definitely not what I get.
I’m tied up on a project at the moment which requires me not to have threading on my test site, so it could be a few days before I look further.
However contact me via my website and when I get a chance I’ll take a quick look at your site
I have scoured this forum for an answer, but still a bit confused as to where the problem is.
I want the first reply to be indented (and all subsequent); I have all the settings set right. I have tried different themes to make sure it’s not theme specific, but what I get is this:
Replies are all flush left; only a reply to a reply ends up indented.
-How do I indent the first reply to a topic?
-Where do you control the size of the indent?
-How can you easily remove the avatar? (This is making it look funny and hard to see the subtle indent)
