Having just installed a new version, I guess i had to create a top category to hold the others.
I did, saved it as a category and created two subs as working forums.
However when i view the forums page the holding top category says “This forum is empty”

The instructions say that a category cannot hold topics – so why is it saying it is empty please?

There is probably no check wether it is a category or a normal forum, so the error message is still displayed. Can probably be changed with an is_ check in the theme files.

it is gone as soon as a post is made in any forum under the category
