Stuck on “Starting Conversion”

    Hello!

I’m trying to import from my old forum (PHPFox) to bbPress. It worked earlier, the problem was that my computer turned off so the import didn’t finish. So I cleared everything and tried starting it again.
It starts with “Starting Conversion” and the little loading icon. After about a minute, the loading icon disappears and nothing happens…

    Can someone help me?

    Hi,
What do you mean with ‘cleared everything’ ? Normally you should just restart the process and it restarts where it left off…

I thought I had to actually delete the past import and start over… So that was what I did.

It normally starts from where it left off.
    Does it restart now ?

It works if I don’t import the users, but I need the users to be imported too.

I got it working on the import… It said it was done but I don’t think everything was imported.
No users wasn’t imported, so I have to delete everything and start over again..

After the import, for sure try to run the repair functions (one after the other) on Tools > Forums > Repair.

For the users, if you just want to import them, there are tools like https://wordpress.org/plugins/import-users-from-csv-with-meta/ that I already used, but of course you don’t have the link with the topics/replies.

Did the repair and didn’t help.
I need the topics to be linked with users… I tried clearing everything and importing again, but when I import with users it’s just stuck with the spinning wheel.
If I try to import without the users it works.

I’ve tried repairing the DB and checked if all fields have the right name, and it does…

I see a very manual way if the topics/replies were imported correctly with a unique key for each user, but I don’t know how many users you have…

    I have about 1.5K members

Ok, forget the manual way then.

But I don’t see why it isn’t starting. I checked the script and the db and the table names are all right.

Let me try to find somebody more expert for bbPress imports.

Apologies for the late reply though I suspect this is an issue with compatibility and the version of PHPFox being imported, I’ve only ever tested the importer with PHPFox v3.5, what version are you using?

If you’re using a version before v3.5 can you upgrade to v3.5 and see if that helps?
