Even though I have social links turned off for pages they show up on my forum index page.

Just making a wild guess but it is probably Jetpack Sharing. You can disable it if you want in Settings > Sharing.

I have Forums unchecked but the icons still show up. No big deal.

I think the Jetpack team have contacted the bbPress devs especially for this. I bet in a new Jetpack update it will be fixed.
