WP 2.7.1
Buddypress 1.8.1

When using the forum search, whether from the top search box in the forum body or the side widget, all searches redirect to the front page of the site.

Site is using s2member – but I’m logged in as an admin, so that shouldn’t matter

Permalinks are set to postname

Any thoughts?

Just go to Admin Dashboard > Settings > Forums in Single Forum Slugs section, replace search with find or something else you want.

It is working with my website fine see at http://www.punjabi.cc

Weird fix but it worked for me too.

I have the same problem!
But when I change “search” to e.g. “searchresult” I get the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function pa_category_top_parent_id() in C:\xampp\apps\wordpress\htdocs\wp-content\themes\mytheme\content-search.php on line 15

How can I fix it?

Idk why that would cause an issue in your theme. Try out just “s” and see if that causes an issue still.

You can also try some troubleshooting to see if it just your theme causing the issue.
