I want to take payments from a topics page with this plugin, which works on normal posts and pages but doesn’t work in a topic. I changed the theme to 2011 and it still doesn;t work. Is this to be expected?

It might be that the plugin you’re using doesn’t support showing it’s content through custom posttypes.
In that case, you would have to find support with the plugin’s developer.
