I recently changed my forum’s style and added some features:

*Add youtube videos by using [youtube][/youtube] tags, instead of allowing the code to be written.

*Allow [flash][/flash] to be added, using the temporadadepatos.net file uploader.

*Friends system

*Quite different profile page

*Color fading Heatmap

*A universal top bar (for the whole site) integrated to the forums where the login form is. Once logged in, it shows a random phrase each time you refresh.

*Integration with my website (custom CMS, not based on wordpress). (For login and for showing community blog posts on the forum profiles).

*Badges System

That looks amazing. I really like the icons in the thread list and on the posts, as well as the speech bubble thing. How did you do that?

@Staffan: I moved the post content div to the right (with margin-left) and then applied a border. Then I used a little triangular image (the part that makes the bubble effect) and displaced it to the left (using background-position). It’s pretty much just CSS.

Any chance of releasing the friends system as a plugin?

Sure thing… Right now I use a different database, but I’m going to change it to work with users_meta. Nothing hard. I’ll send you a message when I do
