Is there a way for me to setup some sort of indicator that will allow me to quickly see if something new has been post in a forum or topic?

Where do you want the indicator to show up?

For familiarity sake I would say on the left side of the post title, which seems to be the standard position for all other forums. It could be a simple image swap or something as simple + or no +.

On an unrelated note, how can I make the “Notify me of follow-up posts via email” check box be checked by default?
