Multiple Homepage refreshes after bbpress install

    @drkkd

    1. On Saturday I installed a bbpress forum at drkkd.com/community/

    2. That same day, my pageviews suddenly went up.

    3. I can provide screenshots of surge.

    4. I noticed that the surge is for one page only – drkkd.com/archives – which leads to homepage.

    5. Customers started complaining about website being slow since the install.

    6. Then I noticed google analytics showing customer computers loading homepage hundreds of times – again I have screenshot of this.

Seems to me, since installing bbpress, what is happening is that some function within bbpress is calling that page in a loop. It isn’t happening everywhere, so there may be browser dependence.

I use Avada theme with s2member, bbpress, and a few other plugins.

    WP version – version 4.5.3

    bbpress – Version 2.5.10

Any help will be much appreciated.

    probably a conflict –

It could be a theme or plugin issue

    Plugins

Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

Thanks so much, Robin, for responding. But I have essential plugins like S2member enabled. I deactivate them and my entire business will collapse. I have customer roles in the plugin.

Is there some way to do this without bothering the main site?

Also, the problem is occurring at user end. I deactivate each plugin, it will take 24 hours just for the effect to happen, then contacting each customer for a report. Then repeat with another plugin. I have many plugins.

Is there an easier way to do the testing?

Thanks again for responding. This is awesome, this support system.

ok, I’d strongly recommend you have a testing site.

    Creating a Test Site

Whilst it will take an initial effort to set up, it is well worthwhile

Yes, I will set this up on my computer.

Is there a tool to test a testing site’s performance – in terms of loading speed? That is the principle problem I am facing.

Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you. Just checked that tool, learned how poorly my site is functioning. This is very useful.
