Hi guys!
In my sidebar I would like to echo out a basic topic list (without author info etc), with just the topic title!
I would like to get the x amount of freshest topics. how can I do this?
So I don’t want to use template parts, I want my own (foreach)loop.

Cant you just use the Recent Topics widget and disable showing the author information and also ordering them by Topics with Recent Replies or Newest Topics.

Great tip, thanks! not using widgets areas but the used the the_widget() function!
