Hi all…

First time bbPress user, found installation to be fairly simple, got up and running quickly enough. However, after logging in for the first time, I am redirected to an incorrect URL. During installation I was asked for the URL where my bbpress installation will be, and that was easy enough:

http://mysite.org/subdir/bbpress/

When I log in with my keymaster account (the only account so far) I am instantly redirected to

http://mysite.org/subdir/bbpress/subdir/bbpress/

From what I can tell, this redirection is preventing me from getting the necessary creds to access the Admin area: when I click the Admin link, I’m just instantly redirected back to the index page, and logging out and back in again as suggested in other threads has no effect.

Can anyone shed some light on how to fix this redirection issue?

The issue is being caused by the following line of code in bb-login.php:

$re = bb_get_uri( $re , null, BB_URI_CONTEXT_HEADER );

before this function call, $re = /subdir/bbpress . Afterward, $re = http://mysite.org/subdir/bbpress/subdir/bbpress/ . Either there is a bug in this function or something is wrong with my configuration.

Commenting out this line has fixed the redirection issue upon login, however, I still do not have access to the Admin area.

As someone who has written a number of forums in the past, I was really hoping for a turnkey solution with bbpress. I hope someone can provide an answer as to why I cannot access the administration area before I have to take the time to dig through the code for answers myself…

Not working with default settings + no help from community = rm -r bbpress/ .
