Is there a way for moderators to disable editing of individual posts?

User editing is set to about a week. But if a post needs to be moderated is there a way to remove the user editing permission after the moderator has made changes?
Or even better, a way to replace a deleted post with some sort of placeholder so any replies keep their place in the nested thread (right now any replies to a deleted post get pushed to the bottom of the thread)?
