Hi,
I cant figure out how a topic is related to its category in wp database.

I know for WP blog posts its Object id (post id) and term id (category)
But for bbPress topics i cant find the connection in database.
Can someone help me ?

Hi,

Categories are like parent forums in DB and have post_type “forum” in wp_posts table. The difference is a category has _bbp_forum_type “category” in wp_postmeta table.

Are you searching a way to display the category of a topic?

My mission is to overwrite the default category.
On the page where i can create a new post i have the parent ID in the URL like ?vis=92
Then i want to make a function, so i can add the category related to the parent ID, to the new post.
It means that i will overwrite the default category.
Any ideas how this function should look like?

I know its a wp subject now. Maybe i should move it to the wp forum?
