Have a subforum of a group only visible to members of the group

    @gerryj

    Hello,

    I am currently developing a website with many different groups and each has its own forum.
    I’m using BuddyPress to create these groups.
    For every forum, only the group’s members should have access to it, which works fine.
    The problem is that all of these group forums also have subforums but these can be accessed by anyone no matter which group they are in.
    in the forum setting itself, I can only choose between public, private and hidden and since all our users will be logged in anyway there is no difference between Public and private.
    Is there any way to also use the group restriction for subforums?

    I know this might be a BuddyPress problem but I decided to also post this problem here in addition to the BuddyPress forum.

    Regards
    Gerry

    I don’t know how well it might work with your buddypress set up, but try

    Private groups

    Hey Robin,

    these groups seem completely separate from the BuddyPress group. If this doesn’t do anything with the BuddyPress groups it’s not relevant for me. I don’t want to maintain two different kinds of groups for every Forum for this to work and I don’t want to abandon Buddypress I am already way too far into development with Buddypress.

    Is there anything in regard to the BuddyPress groups that I can do?
    Regards
    Gerry Zeller
