Try visiting your permalinks page, and saving them. Sometimes they need a refresh after bbPress is installed.

    Hi John!

I followed several walthroughs like trying to refresh permalinks and re-saving bbPress settings, with no luck! :'(

    Any ideas?

    Thanks ;)

OK, so I tried to change the permalinks to “” and “” works by I get a blank page.

I found what’s causing the issue: the bbp-forum-index points to “http://website/forum” (without the s) instead of forums.

This is why the navigation “Home > Forums” link is also broken…

Could anyone tell me how to fix this, please??

    Many thanks!

    Hi again!

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Does anyone know what’s wrong with the shortcode bbp-forum-index pointing to url “forum” instead of “forums”?

    Many thanks in advance.

Whenever I have a fairly serious issue like this I follow these three steps first:

    – Switch to a default theme like twentyten

    – Disable plugins

    – Update permalinks

Give that a go then see what happens when you disable each individual plugin.

: Thanks for you reply. I tried all those troubleshooting, with no luck :”'(

: Thanks. Hopefully, I know what a http404 error is and this does not help much more… :s

As explained, if you go to, then click on the link in the navbar “Forums”, you reach the following url: –> here’s the error as it should be “Forums” (with an S).

Then click on any forum. You’ll see navigation links “Accueil > Forums”.

If you make an onmouseover on the “Forums” link, you’ll see that it points to

Finally, if you click, you get a blank page…

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your replies,

I’ve run into this a few times myself with bbPress 2.0. Sadly I didn’t find the root cause and a proper fix, but I did find a workaround. I change the root slug of the forums to Discussion and then I uncheck “Prefix your forum area with the Forum Base slug (Recommended)”

So my Movies forum is: and that works. Then I used “Page Links to” and create a menu entry for Forums that links to as the root of the forums.
