    Hello,

I am a new user of Bbpress. Currently I have the latest version of WordPress as well as Bbpress. But I am facing an irritating problem. I have created a forum for my site: http://realestateconnectionplace.com/forums/forum/forum/ .I like the url to be http://realestateconnectionplace.com/forum/ . I searched everywhere and found that many a one tried to provide a solution. They made plugins and code for .htaccess file. But all of them make some issues like admin link’s working issue and extra slash in the url.

In a nutshell I am very depressed. Because I am not an expert and found no perfect help anywhere. So I would like to request to John James Jacoby, please consider spending a little time to give us instruction about how to stop Archive Slugs and Single Slugs appearing in the url.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Unclear why you’re having such difficulty:

    1. Settings > Forums
    2. Untick the “Forum Prefix” box.

It’s a marvelous day for me that I’ve got a response from you. Thank you very much.

If I Untick the “Forum Prefix” box yet there remains the forum slug. The URL changes to http://realestateconnectionplace.com/forum/forum/ . But I like it to be just http://realestateconnectionplace.com/forum/

I hope this time I am getting a solution. 🙂

Thanks. It worked great for Settings > Forum > uncheck Forum Prefix

For the other possible /forum/ url slug prefix, Sumon1068, try going into Admin > Forums and make sure your previous forum are not CHILD of another forum. I was this for me, importing from phpbb3.

Hello, I have the same question.

From Google’s pov this 6 years old topic is the best about this concern…

I would like to have three different boards without this in between bridge page which is created automatically.
None of the boards are child elements.
I can’t get rid of it.
I would like to have example.com/board-1 instead of example.com/forum/board-1
