    Hi,

    Since a day, I’m trying to set up my forum correctly, but without results 😛

    So, here is my URL: http://www.vd-3d.com/forum

    The problem is that I have several forums (Official, General), but the sub-forums are displayed as a small list separated by commas!

    I’m looking to have something like that: https://render.otoy.com/forum/

    Any idea to help me please (without programming) ?

    @robin-W,

    Hi Robin,

    First, thanks for the useful BBP Style Pack plugin. Everything works fine but when i enable the Alternate Template 1 it doesn’t change the layout. What am i doing wrong? Do i need to add code to a template or something?

    It could be several things, but some themes override bbpress templates and prevent my plugin changing them.

    Do you have ftp access to your site?

    Hi,

    Yes i have ftp access via bluehost. Can you guide me trough this, because i would really like that layout.

    ok, can you look at

    wp-content/themes/%what-your-theme-is-called%/bbpress

    where /%what-your-theme-is-called%/ is the name of your theme

    and see if it has a file called loop-forums.php in that directory

    @robin-w

    Yes sir it has a file called loop-forums.php

    What’s next?

    @robin-w

    ok, so we’ll save a copy of the current theme loop-forums in case we need it, and then copy the one from my plugin to the theme directory to replace it.

    Step by step this is :

    1. copy the file

    wp-content/themes/%what-your-theme-is-called%/bbpress/loop-forums.php

    to your PC and save it to somewhere you know and make a note of it so you can find it if you need it in future.

    2. then find

    wp-content/plugins/bbp style pack/templates/templates1/loop-forums.php

    and copy it to your pc (again knowing where you put it, but don’t overwrite the one you copied above!)

    3. Then copy this file into

    wp-content/themes/%what-your-theme-is-called%/bbpress

    The theme should then use the updated file

    I did exactly what you said and it didn’t change anything.

    Ok, I can’t immediately see anything there that would muck it up.

    Sorry, but whilst I would love to have the time to fix every issue, some require personal intervention, which is outside of the scope of free help.

    Mhm that really sucks because i want that layout really bad. Do you have any other tips on retrieving that layout? Have a main category like general discussion with several sub forums? Just like the template you made in the bbp style pack.

    Thomas

    @robin-w

    you could try uploading it to the main bbpress templates

    wp-content/plugins/bbpress/templates/default/bbpress/loop-forums.php

    But you will need to remember that any updates to bbpress will overwrite this, and you’ll need to repeat.

    Otherwise suggest you search your site for loop-forums.php to see if any other instances are on it. If you overwrite them with the style pack version, then it must take effect at some point !

    I uploaded to that folder to, i checked all the loop-forums.php files and they are the good (new template) ones. Is there a way you can have a quick look trough skype or something. I think when we use a chat function it’s much faster then this.

    I hope you are willing to help me real quick because you probably see it right away when i give you access.

    suspect that wp fastest cache might be saving a version.

    I disabled all plugins except bbpress and still it looks like the standard version.

    There are no other loop-forums.php files in my directory. What should i do? I’m really out of idea’s man.

    Isn’t there a small chance you can take 10-15 minutes to look trough skype? I’ll give you access to my wordpress.

    If you’ve done everything else correctly – would put money on it being a caching issue – deactivating the plugin may not stop it working.

    plugin says ‘3.Admin can delete all cached files from the options page’ suggest you do this

    I deleted all cache via the wp fastest cache.

    Can you add me on Skype: thomask1993@hotmail.com

    Thanks

    sorry – I don’t get involved in skype conversations on a free support site.

    my final thought would be that if you are not running any hierarchy, then this is how the forum will display.

    Try setting up some categories with sub forums to see if it is actually all working
