I am working on installing BBpress for the first time.

I have it installed and I created my first forum, but the link is way too long. It shows as:

http://mysite.com/forums/forum/darth-forums/

I’ve tried resetting permalinks, but that didn’t fix it. How can I make the link show as http://mysite.com/darth-forums/ ?

You can remove the first “forums” by dashboard>settings>forums>forum root slug

and unchecking “forum prefix”

Is your “darth-forums” a category or a single forum?

Thank you. I did remove the first “forums” as you suggested. Darth Forums is intended to be the single forum, with categories/topics under it.

I can make mysite.com/forum work for me. No sense reinventing the wheel, lol.
