Forum Index Adding Featured Images

Is there a way that I can align my featured images of the Forums on the Forums Index Page? Is there a functions.php way to do this. I got it to work if you click the Forum Category but images are not showing up on the forum index page at all. I looked everywhere and tried everything to no resolve.
