When attempting to move a reply > “Use an existing discussion in this forum:”

is there a method to move a reply to a different discussion other than the dropdown?

When I do this from either the front or back end the only option is a dropdown that contains (or at least tries to) all of the discussions in that forum.
Problem with that is my forum has thousands of discussions. The dropdown takes a long time to populate and then doesn’t populate all of the topics and they are not sorted in any reasonable fashion so there is no way to actually find the discussion that you want to move the reply into.
