Custom User Roles Not Saving Correctly After bbPress Update – Anyone Else?

Hey everyone,
Running into a frustrating issue on a WordPress site using bbPress. After updating to the latest version, custom forum roles (specifically moderator-level permissions I set manually) keep reverting to the default subscriber role on the front end. also check out GB WA
The roles show correctly in the dashboard but don’t reflect properly when the user logs in. Tried deactivating other plugins to rule out conflicts — no luck so far.
Site setup:

WordPress 6.x
bbPress latest
Shared hosting environment

Has anyone dealt with this before? Would appreciate any pointers before I dig into the database directly.
