Creating BBPress as a component to a WordPress Website

Hello Everyone!
I’m doing a website about proper skin care. I want it to be a blog, with some static pages, and a forum component for an active community. I want to know how to do this in WordPress. I installed BBPress 2.0 plugin, and created a new forum, but I want to make the forum be It’s own menu item, as a separate component to my site. I also want to try to apply a universal theme.
If someone could lead me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.Zach
