Hi,

I have searched the forums but haven’t really found a proper answer/solution for this.

Since our forums use the term “discussion” instead of “topic,” we would like to change that part of the permalink from /topics/ to /discussions/, as in:

domain.com/topics/
domain.com/discussions/

For everything else we’re using a custom permalink plugin.

dashboard>settings>forums>forum single slugs>topic

or

dashboard>settings>forums>forum user slugs>topics started

Thanks for the quick response.

I should probably have mentioned that this is a BuddyBoss installation. Here’s what’s available from the permalink settings. The slug for the discussions list view is the one that seems to be missing . . .

Forum: forum
Discussion: discussion
Discussion Tag: discussion-tag
Discussion View: discussions

I also think there’s a misunderstanding: I’m not looking to change the slug for a single discussion—that’s all there. I’d like to change the slug for the discussions list view.

We have “domain.com/forums/” and “domain.com/topics/.”

It should be “domain.com/forums/” and “domain.com/discussions/.”

Single forums and discussions look like this:

domain.com/forum/title/
domain.com/discussion/title/

buddyboss is a paid plugin that ties to the free open source bbpress and buddypress plugins. As such I can’t help further, suggest you contact their support.

Yeah I’m aware of that. I also wasn’t asking for support with the BuddyBoss platform. I actually thought there’d be a fairly simple way to rename the slug–completely independent from it, because I don’t believe it’s BuddyBoss-related at all. Thanks anyway.

the only bbpress related settings are the ones I quoted above.

on my test site

dashboard>settings>forums>forum user slugs>topics started

changes the topics list view.

so if I amend this to ‘dicsussions’ then domain.com/discussions/ works.
