Hi this is also an issue for a forum I am an administrator for as well. Below is a copy of the email. I have changed the emails and organization name as this is a private forum but to give you an idea of the email that is received by the users when they subscribe to a topic and replies are made. This is a big problem for us as the email addresses should not be shared with other members. We are using WordPress to push the notifications, not another service.
Can anyone share a suggestion on how to have this fixed?

Agreed, this is still an issue for me as well. Appreciate any thoughts anyone can share!
To be clear, emails are *not* being sent via the “cc” header; they are definitely being sent via the correct “Bcc” header.
I’m looking into this now, and have not duplicated the issue. So far 2 others have chimed in with a similar experience as yours, so something is up somewhere (maybe server configuration, PHPMailer config, etc…)
We’ll check it out and see what we can do.
I’m seeing this problem as well with bcc header. Users can see all the other users email addresses that are subscribed to a thread even though it says it is a bcc.
I use Siteground.com as a host. Siteground support says it is a WordPress or plugin issue.

It looks like my issue with the BCCs is being caused by the wpMandrill plugin I use to send emails through the Mandrill service
The Mandrill API previously couldn’t deal with BCC emails, it has been updated but it’s WP plugin hasn’t.
I tried this code offered by a user but it ended up sending two emails. One with no BCCs showing and one with the same BCCs showing problem. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-contribute-fixed-bcc
Just a follow-up
I was recently able to solve the BCC showing problem by using the plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/postman-smtp/
It’s over 5 years later and I just started using bbpress and I see this same exact issue…so is this a glitch or a plugin conflict?
