    Hey all,

I will be adding a Forum to an existing WordPress site, and I am familiar with both PHPBB and vBulletin, and I would like to use the “Category” features — where Forums are listed under an appropriate category.

I would like to use bbPress for the common look and feel, and single sign on four our users.

    Can I set up Categories?

You can setup categories and forums underneath it.

Getting them to look similar to phpbb and invision in yiur template will take some time.

    Good luck!

    Thanks. Categories were easy.

Next, I would like to list my Forums vertically underneath the Categories, rather than listing them horizontally on a single line.

I can’t work out how to do that. Thanks again!

    Hi Ishr,

Yeah I don’t like the horizontal listing either. See if this reply helps you out.

how to display list of sub-forums on separate lines, instead of big blob?

    Hi Len,

I found that topic confusing. I could’t find any instructions for listing sub forums on separate lines.

    Hi Ishr,

In Stephen Edgar’s reply that I linked to he posted a link to a gist on GitHub. Place the code he referenced in your child theme’s functions.php file.

Make sure to backup that file before editing it just in case something goes wrong and you can easily revert.
