Can’t find settings

    @creekdweller

    Wanted to check my bbPress settings and looked under Settings for Forums but there was no entry for Forums under Settings. This on a pretty generic site (Twenty Sixteen Child) with all updates (including bbPress 2.6.1). I’m running PHP 7.3, and note that the compatibility scanner says compatibility of bbPress with this version of PHP is “unknown.”

    try

    dashboard>settings>permalinks and just click save

    that resets the permalinks and may bring forum settings back

    If not, are Forums, Topics and Replies showing in the dashboard?

    Thanks, tried that to no effect. Dashboard shows Topics and Replies but not Forums.

    Could be that your roles or capabilities are broken.

    Did you install a plugin that modified them?

    I am having a similar issue on a site I inherited to support. The site has MemberPress loaded and I am suspecting that has something to do with not being able to find the settings. NOthing in thedashboard that indicates “forum” or “Replies”

    it could be a theme or plugin issue

    Themes

    As a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

    Plugins

    If that doesn’t work, also deactivate all plugins apart from bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Then come back
