I used bbPress plugin to an existing WordPress installation and it works great. I wanted also to allow users to upload their own avatars. For that purpose I installed Loise Dade’s Avatar Upload plugin, but upon activation, nothing really happens.

Is there a way I can allow users to upload avatars when bbPress is installed as a plugin?

You’d probably just need a plugin like you have for WordPress to upload avatars like https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-local-avatar/

You may need to fiddle with your theme, depending on how the plugin works, but as bbPress runs via CPTs it should just pull it in.
